Duha Prayer is Recommended
Hadith 145
37- وبه: عن عائشة أم المؤمنين أنها قالت: ما سبح رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سبحة الضحى قط وإني لأستحبها، وإن كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليدع العمل وهو يحب أن يعمل به خشية أن يعمل به الناس فيفرض عليهم.
And with the same chain of narration, it is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed the Duha prayer (regularly), and I consider this prayer to be recommended. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), despite liking an action, would sometimes leave it out of fear that it might become obligatory upon people due to their continuous practice of it.
Hadith 146
191- قال مالك: حدثني موسى بن ميسرة عن أبى مرة مولى عقيل بن أبى طالب أن أم هانيء ابنة أبى طالب أخبرته أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى عام الفتح ثماني ركعات ملتحفا فى ثوب واحد.
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of Abu Talib (and the sister of Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him), that in the year of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed eight rak‘ahs wrapped in a single garment.
