Muwatta Imam Malik (Riwayat Ibn al-Qasim)

It is narrated from the wife of the Prophet, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the morning prayer (at such darkness) that the women, wrapped in their sheets, would return and due to the darkness, they would not be recognized.

It is narrated from Sayyida Habiba bint Sahl al-Ansariyya (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was married to Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qais bin Shamas (may Allah be pleased with him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out for the morning (Fajr) prayer and found Habiba bint Sahl (may Allah be pleased with her) at her door in the darkness. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who is this?" She said: "I am Habiba bint Sahl." He asked: "What is the matter?" She said: "I and Thabit bin Qais cannot live together." Thabit bin Qais was her husband. Then when Thabit bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Habiba bint Sahl has mentioned what Allah willed." Then Habiba said: "O Messenger of Allah! Whatever he gave me is all with me." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him): "Take it from her." So he took it from her (and gave her one divorce), and Habiba sat in her house (to complete her waiting period).
