Muwatta Imam Malik (Riwayat Ibn al-Qasim)

It is narrated from Yahya bin Amarah al-Mazni, may Allah have mercy on him, that he asked his maternal grandfather Abdullah bin Zaid bin Asim, who was a companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: Can you show me how the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed ablution? So Abdullah bin Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him, said: Yes. Then he called for water for ablution, poured it on his hands and washed them twice, then rinsed his mouth three times and put water into his nose and expelled it, then washed his face three times, then washed his hands up to the elbows twice, then wiped his head with both hands, moving them forward and then backward, he started wiping from the front part of his head and took them to the nape of his neck, then brought them back to the place where he had started, then washed both his feet.
