Only Allah Has Control Over Rain
Hadith 3
274- وعن صالح بن كيسان عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله عن زيد بن خالد الجهني أنه قال: صلى لنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صلاة الصبح بالحديبية فى إثر سماء كانت من الليل، فلما انصرف أقبل على الناس فقال: ”هل تدرون ماذا قال ربكم؟“ قالوا: الله ورسوله أعلم، قال: ”أصبح من عبادي مؤمن بي وكافر، فأما من قال: مطرنا بفضل الله ورحمته، فذلك مؤمن بي كافر بالكوكب، وأما من قال: مطرنا بنوء كذا وكذا، فذلك كافر بي مؤمن بالكوكب“ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the morning prayer at Hudaybiyyah after a night of rain. When he finished the prayer and turned to the people, he said: "Do you know what your Lord has said?" The people replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(Allah says:) Some of My servants have entered the morning as believers and some as disbelievers. Whoever says that the rain has fallen by the grace and mercy of Allah, then he is a believer in Me and a disbeliever in the stars. And whoever says that the rain has fallen because of such-and-such a star, then he is a disbeliever in Me and a believer in the stars."
