The imam should consider the sick and elderly
Hadith 93
326- وبه: عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: ”إذا صلى أحدكم بالناس فليخفف فإن فيهم السقيم والضعيف والكبير وإذا صلى لنفسه فليطول ما شاء .“
And with this chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of you leads the people in prayer, he should make it brief, for among them are the sick, the weak, and the elderly. But when he prays alone, he may make it as long as he wishes."
