392- وبه: عن أبيه أنه أخبره أن أبا سعيد الخدري قال له: إني أراك تحب الغنم والبادية، فإذا كنت فى غنمك أو باديتكم فأذنت بالصلاة فارفع صوتك، فإنه لا يسمع مدى صوت المؤذن جن ولا إنس ولا شيء إلا شهد له يوم القيامة. قال أبو سعيد الخدري: سمعته من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman bin Abi Sa’sa’ah Al-Ansari Al-Mazini (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: I see that you like sheep and the wilderness, so if you are among your sheep or in the wilderness and you call the adhan for prayer, then raise your voice, for whatever hears the voice of the muezzin—whether jinn, human, or anything else—will bear witness for him on the Day of Resurrection. Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hadith Authentication (Takhrij al-Hadith):

Jurisprudential Points (Tafaqquh):
➊ It is a great virtue for the muezzin that on the Day of Resurrection, everything that hears his voice will bear witness in his favor.
➋ If a single hadith is narrated from a Companion both as marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and mawquf (stopped at the Companion) with authentic (sahih) or good (hasan) chains, then both chains are considered authentic or good.
➌ It is better even for a single person to give the call to prayer (adhan) and then perform the prayer.
➍ The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: «المؤذنون أطول الناس أعناقًا يوم القيامة۔» On the Day of Resurrection, the necks of those who gave the call to prayer (muezzins) will be the longest, meaning they will have the greatest honor. [ديكهئے صحيح مسلم : 387، دارالسلام : 852]
➎ The louder the muezzin’s voice, the greater the reward will be.
➏ The best quality loudspeaker should be installed in the mosque and the call to prayer (adhan) should be given at the earliest time.
➐ Sayyiduna Sahl ibn Sa‘d al-Sa‘idi radi Allahu anhu said: At two times the gates of the heavens are opened and supplications are rarely rejected: at the time of the call to prayer (adhan) for prayer, and at the time of forming ranks in the path of Allah. [الموطأ 1/70 ح150، وسنده صحيح]
