And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, arrived in Madinah, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with them both, became ill with fever. I went to them and said: O my father! How is your health? And O Bilal! How is your health? When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr’s fever would intensify, he would say: Every person wakes up in his own home, and death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal. And when Sayyiduna Bilal’s fever would subside, he would, in his loud voice (remembering Makkah), say: I wish I knew if I would spend a night in a valley, and around me would be the grasses of Idhkhir and Jalil, and would I ever reach the water of Majannah one day? And would Shamah and Tufail (the mountains) ever appear for me? Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and mentioned this, so he said: “O Allah! Make Madinah beloved to us as You have made Makkah beloved, or even more so, and make it healthy, and bless its measures (Sa’ and Mudd), and transfer its fever from here to Juhfah.”
