It is narrated from Nabiha bin Wahb (Tabi'i) that Umar bin Ubaidullah sent a message to Aban bin Uthman (bin Affan) that I want to marry (Talha) bin Umar (al-Qurashi al-Taymi) to the daughter of Shaybah bin Jubair, and I intend for you to be present as well. In those days, Aban, may Allah have mercy on him, was the leader of the pilgrims. And both (Umar bin Ubaidullah and Aban) were in the state of ihram, so Aban bin Uthman refused Umar bin Ubaidullah's (invitation) and said: I heard (my father) Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "One in the state of ihram should neither marry, nor arrange a marriage, nor get someone married." Abu al-Hasan (al-Qabisi) said: It is possible that Nabiha heard this from Aban. This is confirmed (and supported) by the narration of others besides Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, and if this were not the case, it is possible that he heard it from the messenger who delivered the message, thus this narration becomes connected with an unknown narrator in the chain, and Allah alone grants success. The ahadith narrated by Nafi' have been completed, and these are seventy-two (72) ahadith.
