For Whom Allah Intends Good
Hadith 568
521- مالك عن يزيد بن زياد عن محمد بن كعب القرظي أنه قال: قال معاوية بن أبى سفيان وهو على المنبر: أيها الناس، إنه لا مانع لما أعطى الله، ولا معطي لما منع الله، ولا ينفع ذا الجد منه الجد، من يرد الله به خيرا يفقهه فى الدين. ثم قال: سمعت هؤلاء الكلمات من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على هذه الأعواد.
Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said (in Madinah) from the pulpit: O people! Whomever Allah gives, there is no one who can withhold, and whomever Allah withholds from, there is no one who can give, and the greatness of any person does not benefit him. Whomever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion (fiqh). Then he said that I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on this very pulpit.
