No Forgiveness of Debt in Any Case
Hadith 525
507- مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد عن سعيد بن أبى سعيد المقبري عن عبد الله بن أبى قتادة عن أبيه أنه قال: جاء رجل إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: يا رسول الله، إن قتلت فى سبيل الله صابرا محتسبا مقبلا غير مدبر، أيكفر الله عني خطاياي؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”نعم فلما أدبر الرجل ناداه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أو أمر به فنودي له، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”كيف قلت؟“ فأعاد عليه قوله، فقال له النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”نعم إلا الدين، كذلك قال لي جبريل.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! If I am killed in the way of Allah in such a state that I am patient, sincere in intention, advancing forward to attack and not turning my back, will Allah forgive my sins? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" Then when that man turned and went back, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called him or ordered him to be called, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "How did you say?" He repeated his statement, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Yes! Except for debt, thus Jibreel has told me."
