Prohibition of saying "if You will" when making supplication
Hadith 449
336- وبه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”لا يقولن أحدكم: اللهم اغفر لي إن شئت، اللهم ارحمني إن شئت؛ ليعزم المسألة، فإنه لا مكره له.“
And with this chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "None of you should say (at the time of supplication): O Allah! If You will, forgive me; O Allah! If You will, have mercy on me. One should ask (Allah) with determination, for there is no one who can compel Him."
