It is narrated from the wife of the Prophet, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that she said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) has started menstruating. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps she wants to delay us (from traveling after Hajj). Did she not perform Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah) with you?" The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, she has performed Tawaf. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then depart (for the journey)."

Takhrij al-Hadith:[وأخرجه البخاري 328، ومسلم 385/1211 بعد ح1328، من حديث مالك به] Jurisprudential Explanation: ➊ A woman in the state of menstruation (haidh) will not perform the circumambulation (tawaf) of the House of Allah (Baytullah). ➋ If a woman performs the Tawaf al-Ziyarah (Tawaf al-Ifadah) and afterwards she experiences menstruation, then the Farewell Tawaf (Tawaf al-Wada‘) is not obligatory upon her, whereas it remains obligatory upon other people. ➌ When Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha would perform Hajj and there were women with her, she would send them for Tawaf al-Ifadah (Tawaf al-Ziyarah) on the Day of Sacrifice itself out of fear that they might begin menstruating. Then, when those women would complete the Tawaf al-Ifadah and menstruation would occur to them, she would not wait for them to become pure, but rather they would depart immediately.
