Benefit from Tanned Hide of Dead Animal
Hadith 32
52- وبه: عن ابن عباس أنه قال: مر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بشاة ميتة كان أعطاها مولاة لميمونة زوج النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: ”هلا انتفعتم بجلدها؟“ فقالوا: يا رسول الله إنها ميتة، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”إنما حرم أكلها“ .
And with the same chain of narration, it is reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a dead goat which he had given to the slave woman of his wife, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not benefit from its skin (hide)?" The people said: It is dead. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Only its eating has been made unlawful."
