Muwatta Imam Malik (Riwayat Ibn al-Qasim)

It is narrated from Sayyida Umm ‘Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (Sayyida Umm Kulthum, may Allah be pleased with her) passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: “Wash her three times, or more if you think it appropriate, with water and lotus leaves, and in the last time add camphor or a little of camphor. Then when you have finished, inform me.” Umm ‘Atiyyah said: When we finished, we informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he gave us his waist-wrapper and said: “Shroud her body in this (cloth).”
