475- وعن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن عمر بن أبى سلمة أنه رأى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي فى ثوب واحد فى بيت أم سلمة واضعا طرفيه على عاتقيه.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying in a single garment in the house of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) had placed both its ends over his shoulders.

Takhrij al-Hadith:
[وأخرجه النسائي 2 / 70 ح765، من حديث مالك به، ورواه البخاري 354 356، ومسلم 517، من حديث هشام بن عروة به من رواية يحييٰ بن يحييٰ وسقط من الأصل]
Jurisprudential Points:
➊ If there is an excuse, it is permissible to pray in a single garment, provided that the shoulders are not left uncovered.
