And with this chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The gates of Paradise are opened on Monday and Thursday, then every (Muslim) servant who did not associate anything with Allah is forgiven, except for the man who harbors enmity between himself and his brother. Then it is said: Hold both of them back (grant them respite) until they reconcile."

Jurisprudential Points: ➊ It is forbidden (haram) for Muslims to boycott one another without a valid Islamic excuse. ➋ Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu said: People's deeds are presented (before Allah Ta'ala) twice every week: on Monday and Thursday. Then every believing servant is granted forgiveness except for the one who harbors enmity with his brother, and it is said: Leave both of them until they reconcile. [الموطأ 909/2 ح 1752، وسنده صحيح ورواه مسلم : 6525 مرفوعاً] ➌ Paradise (Jannah) is a created entity and it has (eight) gates. ➍ A polytheist (mushrik) is not granted forgiveness; rather, Paradise is forever forbidden for him and Hell is his abode. ➎ When servants settle their mutual rights among themselves, Allah Ta'ala grants forgiveness. ➏ The importance of Monday and Thursday is also made clear; the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to fast on these two days. See: [سنن الترمذي : 745 وسندہ صحیح، 747 وسندہ حسن وصحیح مسلم : 1162، دار السلام : 2750]
Note: ◄ The presentation of people's deeds to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam on Monday and Thursday is not established by any authentic hadith. ➐ Also see: [الموطأ حديث: 4، 79، البخاري 6076، 6077، ومسلم 2559، 2560]
