Hadith 93
حَدَّثَنِي عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ الرَّمْلِيُّ ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سَبْرَةَ الْجُهَنِيُّ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ اسْتَمْتَعْتُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ بِبُرْدَيْنِ أَحْمَرَيْنِ ، " وَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمُتْعَةِ " ، قَالَ : وَسَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ سَبْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ذَلِكَ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ .
Rabee’ bin Sabrah Al-Juhani narrated, his father said, I contracted Mut’ah marriage with a woman from Banu ‘Amir in exchange for two red garments during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade us from Mut’ah marriage. Muhammad bin Muslim said, I heard Rabee’ bin Sabrah narrate this to Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) while I was sitting with them.
