Hadith 78
حَدَّثَنِي حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَزِيرٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، ثنا ابْنُ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَحْيَى الْغَسَّانِيَّ ، حَدَّثَهُ , عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيّ ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، " فَقَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الأُولَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ وَسُورَةٍ مِنْ قِصَارِ الْمُفَصَّلِ ، يَجْهَرُ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ ابْتَدَأَ الْقِرَاءَةَ ، فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى كَادَتْ ثِيَابِي تَمَسُّ ثِيَابَهُ ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ قَرَأَ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ ، وَقَرَأَ : رَبَّنَا لا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا سورة آل عمران آية 8 " .
It is narrated from Abu Abdullah al-Sanasaji that he performed the (Maghrib) prayer behind Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). In the first two rak'ahs, he recited Surah Al-Fatihah and one short surah from the Mufassal with loud recitation. Then, when he stood up for the third rak'ah and began the recitation (al-Sanasaji says), I came so close to him that my clothes were touching his clothes. I heard him recite Umm al-Qur'an, and this verse: "Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us." [آل عمران: 8]
