Hadith 63
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ بَعْضِ وَلَدِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى ، فَحَدَّثَهُ بِأَحَادِيثَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَعَا عُمَرُ بِقَرَاطِيسَ وَدَوَاةٍ وَكَتَبَ أَحَادِيثَهُ ، وَكَانَ فِيهَا حَدِيثٌ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أُمَّتِي الأُمَّةُ الْمَرْحُومَةُ ، جُعِلَ عَذَابُهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا ، فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ أُتِيَ بِأَهْلِ الأَدْيَانِ ، فَأُعْطِيَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ رَجُلا ، فَقِيلَ : هَذَا فِدَاؤُكَ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
One of the sons of Talha bin Ubaidullah narrated: I was with Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) when Abu Burdah bin Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him, and he narrated ahadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) through his father. So Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) called for paper and ink and wrote down those ahadith. Among those ahadith was this hadith: Abu Burdah said, my father narrated to me, he said, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah's mercy is upon my Ummah; its punishment is in this world (in the form of trials and tribulations). When the Day of Resurrection comes, followers of other religions will be brought, and Allah the Exalted will give every man a (disbelieving) man, and it will be said to him: This one will go into the Fire in your place."
