Hadith 18
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْمُقَوِّمُ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، ثنا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ ، وَعَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ : أَنْصِتْ ، وَالإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "When you say to your companion on the day of Jumu'ah, 'Be quiet,' while the Imam is delivering the sermon, then you have engaged in idle talk."
