حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، وَيُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، وَأَبُو عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالُوا : ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَهُ , عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ يَقُولُ : أَيْنَ فُقَهَاؤُكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ ؟ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ مِنْبَرِهِ يَنْهَى عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْقُصَّةِ ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ، فَلَمْ أَرَهَا عَلَى عَرُوسٍ وَلا غَيْرِهِ أَجْمَلَ مِنْهَا عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ ، وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَةَ وَالنَّامِصَةَ ، وَالْوَاشِرَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِرَةَ " .
Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Qariz narrated: I heard Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) on the pulpit in Madinah. He was saying: O people of Madinah! Where are your jurists? I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at his pulpit saying: He forbade such locks of hair (wigs), then Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) placed it on his head, and I have not seen anyone more beautiful than Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) on the occasion of marriage or any other occasion. And he was saying: Allah has cursed the one who tattoos, the one who has it done, the one who plucks facial hair, the one who has it plucked, the one who files teeth to make gaps, and the one who has it done.
