حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى أَبُو مُوسَى ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، ثنا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ عَامِرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ الْمَدِينَةِ ، أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَكَلَ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ عَجْوَةً مَا بَيْنَ لابَتَيِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، وَيَبْدَأُ بِهِنَّ ، لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ يَوْمَهُ ذَلِكَ سُمٌّ حَتَّى اللَّيْلِ " ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ : انْظُرْ مَا تُحَدِّثُ بِهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا عَامِرُ ، فَقَالَ عَامِرٌ : أَشْهَدُ مَا كَذَبْتُ عَلَى سَعْدٍ ، وَلا كَذَبَ سَعْدٌ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكْذِبْ .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman that Amir bin Sa’d narrated a hadith to Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) when he was the governor of Madinah. Sa’d bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever eats seven ‘ajwa dates from the area between the two black rocky tracts of Madinah, and begins his day with them, no poison will harm him that day until night.” Amir bin Sa’d was told by Umar bin Abdul Aziz, “O Sa’d! See what you are attributing to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!” Sa’d replied, “I testify that I have not attributed any lie to Sa’d bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), nor did Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) attribute any lie to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).” Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “And I testify that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not speak falsely.”
