Musnad Umar Abdul Aziz

Abu Salam Al-Aswad says: Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, sent a message to me, so I presented myself before him. When I entered, he said to me, "Come closer, come closer," so I came so close that my knees touched his knees. Then he said: "Narrate to me the hadith related to the Pond (Hawd) of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) as reported from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him)." Abu Salam Al-Aswad said: I heard from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), who narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he said: "My Pond is as long and wide as the distance from Aden to Oman, sweeter than honey and (its water) whiter than milk. Its cups are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Whoever drinks from it once will never feel thirst again. The first to come to me will be those Muhajirun whose hair is disheveled and clothes are dirty, for whom closed doors are not opened, who do not marry women brought up in luxury and comfort, who fulfill their obligations, and who give up their rights." Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "As for women brought up in luxury and comfort, I have married the daughter of Abdul Malik (Fatimah), and closed doors have also been opened for me. By Allah! I will surely make my hair disheveled and my clothes dirty."
