Hadith 22

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ ، أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَوْقَ الْمَسْجِدِ يَتَوَضَّأُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : مَا أَتَوَضَّأُ إِلا مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Qariz that he found Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution on the roof of the mosque. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I am performing ablution because I have eaten pieces of cheese. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform ablution after eating something cooked on fire."
