حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الْخَيَّاطُ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، قَالَ : زَعَمَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ الصَّالِحَةُ خَوْلَةُ بِنْتُ حَكِيمٍ امْرَأَةُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ وَحَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْنٌ ، فَقَالَ : " مَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ " ، وَقَالَتْ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتُبَخِّلُونَ " .
The respected wife of Uthman bin Maz'oon, Sayyida Khawla bint Hakim (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out along with Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he said: “(Children) become a cause of miserliness and cowardice for a person.” And on another occasion, when she narrated, she said: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “And you people act with miserliness.”
