بَابُ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوِتْرَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَتَسْلِيمِهِ بَعْدَ رَكْعَتَيْنِChapter: The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for witr as three rak'ahs and his tasleem after two rak'ahs

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى الْقُرَشِيُّ ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ زَبَّانِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يُوتِرُ بِثَلاثٍ ، يُسَلِّمُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ سَلامًا يُسْمِعُنَا ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she stated regarding the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he would perform three rak‘ahs of Witr, would say salam after two rak‘ahs and would let us hear the words of salam, then would stand up and perform one rak‘ah.
