Hadith 12

حَدَّثَنَا عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، ثنا أَبِي ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : حَجَّ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى الْمَدِينَةَ ، قَالَ : وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ قاعدان ، فَلَمَّا انتهى إليهما قام سعيد بن العاص ، فقال معاوية : أخوك أفقه منك ، سمعت رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ سَرَّهُ إِذَا رَأَتْهُ الرِّجَالُ مُقْبِلا أَنْ تَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ قِيَامًا ، بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي النَّارِ " .
Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: When Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from Hajj and arrived in Madinah, Saeed bin Aas stood up to welcome him. Upon this, Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Your brother has more understanding of religion than you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever likes that, when he comes, people stand up for him, Allah will build a house for him in Hell.'"
