بَابُ ثُبُوتِ رَفْعِ الْيَدَيْنِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَمُتَابَعَةِ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَاChapter: Affirmation of raising the hands in prayer and the following of Salim ibn Abdullah for Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them
Hadith 10

حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَحْيَى الرَّقِّيُّ ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ، ثنا أَبِي ، عَنْ مُبَشِّرِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ نَوْفَلِ بْنِ مُسَاحِقٍ ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ رَفْعُ الْيَدَيْنِ فِي الصَّلاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " تَرَوْنَ أَنَّ سَالِمًا لَمْ يَحْفَظْ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؟ أَتَرَوْنَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ لَمْ يَحْفَظْ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ " .
Hazrat Nofal bin Masaheq narrated that it was mentioned before Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) that Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) raises his hands in prayer. So he said, "What do you think, did Salim not learn this from his father? And did his father, Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), not learn it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?"
