Virtue of sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 968
أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: صَلُّوا عَلَيَّ فَإِنَّ صَلَاتَكُمْ عَلَيَّ زَكَاةٌ لَكُمْ وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ لِيَ الْوَسِيلَةَ قَالَ: فَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْوَسِيلَةِ أَوْ أَخْبَرَهُمْ بِهَا، قَالَ: هِيَ أَعْلَى دَرَجَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَلَا يَبْلُغُهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ وَاحِدٌ أَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا هُوَ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: “Send blessings upon me, for your sending blessings upon me is a means of purification for you, and ask Allah to grant me al-Wasilah.” The narrator stated: He (peace be upon him) was asked about al-Wasilah, or he informed them about it, and said: “It is a high rank in Paradise, only one person will attain it, and I hope that I will be that person.”
Hadith 969
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ لَيْثًا يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " صَلُّوا عَلَيَّ فَإِنَّهَا زَكَاةٌ لَكُمْ، وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ لِيَ الْوَسِيلَةَ وَهِيَ أَعْلَى دَرَجَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَا يُدْرِكُهَا أَوْ قَالَ: لَا يَبْلُغُهَا إِلَّا رَجُلٌ وَاحِدٌ وَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا هُوَ ".
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Send blessings upon me, for it is purity for you, and ask Allah to grant me al-Wasilah, for it is a high rank in Paradise, which only one man will attain, and I hope that I will be that man."
