Statement about the intensity of the fire of Hell
Hadith 964
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، نا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، نا عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((كُلُّ نَارٍ أَوْقَدَهَا بَنُو آدَمَ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ)) ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنْ كَانَتْ هَذِهِ لَكَافِيَةً، فَقَالَ: ((إِنَّهَا ضُعِّفَتْ بِتِسْعَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ جُزْءًا)).
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The fire that people kindle is one part out of seventy parts of the fire of Hell.” They said: O Messenger of Allah! This alone would be sufficient. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “It has been increased by sixty-nine degrees.”
Hadith 965
أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْهَجَرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِنَّ نَارَكُمْ هَذِهِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَوْلَا مَا ضُرِبَ بِهَا الْمَاءُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ مَا انْتَفَعَ بِهَا بَنُو آدَمَ)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "This fire of yours is one seventieth part of the fire of Hell. If water had not been poured on it seven times, mankind would not have been able to benefit from it."
