The son of Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from his paternal aunt (Fatimah bint Yaman, may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, so I, along with some Muhajir women, went to attend to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had hung a water skin, and it was dripping drop by drop onto his chest. I said: O Messenger of Allah! This has caused you pain, pray to Allah to remove this hardship from you. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The prophets (peace be upon them all) are tested the most severely, then those nearest to them, and then those who come after them.”

Lady Fatimah (bint Yaman, may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I came into the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) along with some women, and saw that he had hung a water-skin and, due to the pain he was experiencing, its water was being dripped drop by drop onto him. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He removes your pain. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The most severe trials come upon all the Prophets (peace be upon them), then those after them, then those after them, and then those after them.”
