Statement about avoiding excessive laughter
Hadith 930
أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ، نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلَا وَلَبَكَيتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَلَكِنْ قَارِبُوا وَسَدِّدُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "If you were to know what I know, then you would laugh little and weep much, but keep close, remain upright, and accept glad tidings."
