Lady Umm al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivering a sermon in the plain of Arafat. He was saying: "If a mutilated-nosed, Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader, then listen to him and obey him, as long as he upholds the religion of Allah among you."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying similar to the previous narration.

Lady Umm al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage, he was delivering a sermon to the people, and he was wearing a cloak, which he had wrapped under his armpit, and the muscle of his arm was trembling. And I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Listen and obey, even if a slave with a mutilated nose and ears, an Abyssinian, is appointed as your leader/ruler over you, as long as he establishes the Book of Allah among you."
