Hadith 868
Narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was present in her house and Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) was kneading dough, when they mentioned the Dajjal. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "One year before his emergence, a third of the rain will be withheld from the sky, and the earth will not produce a third of its vegetation. In the second year, the sky will withhold two-thirds of its rain, and the earth will not produce two-thirds of its vegetation. And in the third year, the sky will withhold all its rain, and the earth will not produce any kind of vegetation, until there will not remain any cattle, etc. The greatest trial will be that he will say to a man: 'Tell me, if I bring your father or your brother back to life for you, will you then know that I am your Lord?' He will say: 'Yes.' He will say to a Bedouin: 'Tell me, if I bring your camel back to life for you, with a hump longer than before and udders larger than before, will you then know that I am your Lord?' He will say: 'Yes.' Then he will make the devils appear in their forms, while he cannot actually bring the dead to life." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went outside for some task, and when he returned, his noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were weeping. The Prophet (peace be upon him) held the door frame and said: "Be silent." Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! The mention of the Dajjal has been made to them, which has been hard on them. By Allah! We are anxious while you are among us; what will our state be when you are not with us? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If he (the Dajjal) emerges while I am among you, I will argue and debate with him on your behalf. And if he emerges after me, then Allah is my successor over every believer." Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! What will suffice for people in terms of food on that day? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "That which suffices the inhabitants of the heavens in glorification and sanctification."

Hadith 869
Lady Asma (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of Yazid Al-Ansariyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my house while I was kneading dough. He (peace be upon him) said: "Before the Dajjal, there will be three years; in the first year, the sky will withhold a third of its rain, and the earth will withhold a third of its vegetation." Then he narrated similar to the previous hadith, and regarding the camels, he said: "The devils will take on forms for them like their camels, even better than their previous state, and their udders will be much larger than before," and he said: "He will take on the form of fathers and sons (children)," and he said: "All cows and camels will perish." Lady Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I said, O Messenger of Allah! We knead dough but do not bake bread until we feel hungry; what will be the condition of the believers on that day? He (peace be upon him) said: "That which suffices the inhabitants of the heavens in glorification and sanctification will suffice them."

Narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Yazid Ash’ariyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying while he was among his companions: “I warn and caution you against the Messiah Dajjal, and every prophet has warned his people about him. O Ummah! He will be among you. I am describing him to you in such a clear manner that no prophet has described him like this before. There will be five years of famine before his emergence, until all livestock will perish in them.”

A man called out to him and asked: O Messenger of Allah! What will suffice the believers for food on that day? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “That which suffices the angels will suffice them. Then he (Dajjal) will emerge while he is one-eyed, and Allah is not one-eyed. ‘Kafir’ (disbeliever) will be written on his forehead, and every literate and illiterate person will read it. Most of his followers will be Jews, Bedouins, and women. You will see rain falling from the sky, but he will not send rain. You will see the earth producing vegetation, but it will not produce. He will say to the Bedouins: What do you want from me? Did I not send down heavy rain for you? Did I not revive your livestock for you, which are fat, their bellies protruding, and their udders full of milk?”

He said: “Satan will appear to them in the images of their fathers, brothers, and friends. So a man will come to his father, his brother, or his relative, and he will say to him: Are you not so-and-so? Do you not affirm me? He is your Lord, so follow him. He (Dajjal) will remain for forty years: a year like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, and a day like a spark in the fire. He will go to every pass except the two mosques (Makkah and Madinah).”

Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to perform ablution, and he heard the weeping and wailing of his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), so he returned and said: “Rejoice! If he appears while I am among you, then Allah and His Messenger are sufficient for you. And if he appears after me, then Allah is my successor among you.”
