Description of the Battle of India (Ghazwatul Hind)
Hadith 867
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو السَّكْسَكِيِّ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يوْمًا الْهِنْدَ، فَقَالَ: ((لَيَغْزُوَنَّ جَيْشٌ لَكُمُ الْهِنْدَ فَيَفْتَحُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى يَأْتُوا بِمُلُوكِ السِّنْدِ مُغَلْغَلِينِ فِي السَّلَاسِلِ فَيَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ ذُنُوبَهُمْ فَيَنْصَرِفُونَ حِينَ يَنْصَرِفُونَ فَيَجِدُونَ الْمَسِيحَ ابنَ مَرْيَمَ بِالشَّامِ)) قَالَ: أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَإِنْ أَنَا أَدْرَكْتُ تِلكَ الْغَزْوَةَ بِعْتُ كُلَّ طَارِدٍ وَتَالِدٍ لِي وَغَزَوتُهَا فَإِذَا فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا انْصَرَفْنَا فَأَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ الْمُحَرِّرُ يَقْدَمُ الشَّامَ فَيَلْقَى الْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ، فَلَأَحْرِصَنَّ أَنْ أَدْنُوَ مِنْهُ فَأُخْبِرَهُ أَنِّي صَحِبْتُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَاحِكًا، وَقَالَ: ((إِنَّ جَنَّةَ الْآخِرَةِ لَيْسَتْ كَجَنَّةِ الْأُولَى يُلْقَى عَلَيْهِ مَهَابَةٌ مِثْلَ مَهَابَةِ الْمَوْتِ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَ الرِّجَالِ وَيُبَشِّرُهُمْ بِدَرَجَاتِ الْجَنَّةِ)).
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned India one day and said: "A group of your army will attack India, and Allah will grant them victory, until they bring the kings of Sindh in chains. Allah will forgive their sins. When they return, they will find Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary) in Syria." Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If I live to see that campaign, I will sell my mount and my property and participate in that campaign. When Allah grants us victory and we return, I will be Abu Huraira, freed from Hell, returning to Syria. He (i.e., Isa ibn Maryam, peace be upon him) will meet them, so I will strive very hard to be close to him and to inform him that I have been with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The narrator said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said: "His second coming will not be like the first coming. He will cast an awe like that of death. He will wipe the faces of the dead and inform them about the ranks of Paradise."
