The dishonest will be trusted and the truthful considered liars
Hadith 848
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ سَلَامَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ الْأَصْبَحِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((اتُّهِمَ الْأَمِينُ وَأُمِّنَ غَيْرُ الْأَمِينِ، فَصُدِّقَ الْكَاذِبُ وَكُذِّبَ الصَّادِقُ، وَأَشْرَفَ عَلَيْكُمُ الشَّرْفُ الْجَوْرُ)) ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا شَرْفُ الْجَوْرِ؟ قَالَ: ((فِتَنٌ كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "The trustworthy will be accused (of betrayal), the untrustworthy will be called trustworthy, the liar will be considered truthful and the truthful will be considered a liar, and «شرف جور» will descend upon you." They asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by «شرف جور»? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trials (fitan) will descend like pieces of a dark night."
