Counting tasbih on the right hand's fingers
Hadith 836
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، نا هَانِئُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ حُمَيْضَةَ بِنْتِ يَاسِرٍ , عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا يَسِيرَةَ، وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ قَالَتْ: قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((عَلَيْكُنَّ بِالتَّسْبِيحِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِ وَالتَّقْدِيسِ، وَاعْقِدْنَ بِالْأَنَامِلِ، فَإِنَّهُنَّ مَسْؤُولَاتٌ مُسْتَنْطَقَاتٌ، فَلَا تَغْفُلْنَ فَتَنْسَيْنَ الرَّحْمَةَ)).
Sayyidah Yasirah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us: "You should recite tasbih (SubhanAllah), tahleel (La ilaha illallah), and taqdees (sanctification), and count them on your fingertips, for they will be questioned and they will be made to speak. So do not be heedless, lest you be forgotten from mercy."
