Hadith 815
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the mosque one day, while he was gesturing with his hand in this manner. Maqri (the narrator) turned his hand in this way, and he (the Prophet) was saying: “Whoever grants respite to a debtor in difficulty (for repayment), or forgives him, Allah will save him from the steam/intensity of Hell. Listen! The deed of Paradise is like a hard place on a mound. Listen! The deed of Hell is easy on soft ground, and the truly fortunate person is the one who saves his soul. The sip of anger that a servant of Allah swallows is the most beloved sip to Allah. Whoever restrains (his anger), Allah fills his heart with faith.”
