Encouragement to adopt humility
Hadith 790
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَوْحَى إِلَيَّ أَنْ تَوَاضَعُوا وَلَا يَبْغِي بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ)).
With this same chain (as previous): The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Allah shows mercy to every merciful person.” The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! Each of us shows mercy to himself. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “None of you truly shows mercy to himself until he shows mercy to the people.”
