Distribution of inheritance explained
Hadith 737
اَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُالرَّزَّاقِ، نَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاؤُوْسٍ، عَنْ اَبِیْهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: اقْسِمِ الْمَالَ بَیْنَ اَهْلِ الْفَرَائِضِ عَلٰی کِتَابِ اللّٰهِ فَمَا بَقِیَ فَلِاَوْلٰی ذَکَرٍ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Distribute the wealth among the people of fixed shares according to the Book of Allah, and whatever remains, it is for the male who is closest to the deceased."
