Muhammad bin Ziyad narrated: Marwan used to appoint Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) as the governor of Madinah. Whenever Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man dragging his lower garment or striking his feet on the ground, he would say: "The matter has come," then he would say that Abu al-Qasim (peace be upon him) said: "Allah does not look (with mercy) at the person who drags his lower garment out of pride."
