Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We (the companions of the Messenger) differed regarding the understanding of this verse: "Like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability." We said: We think it is the mushroom. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "What are you discussing?" We said: About the tree mentioned by Allah in this verse. We said: We take it to mean the mushroom. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The mushroom is from the «مَن» that was sent down upon the Children of Israel, its water is a cure for the eye, and the 'ajwah (date) is from Paradise and it is an antidote for poison."
