Hadith 665
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Allah will say: O son of Adam! I asked you for food but you did not feed Me. He will say: O Lord! How could I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that My such-and-such servant asked you for food but you did not feed him? Did you not know that if you had fed him, you would have found (the reward of) that with Me. O son of Adam! I asked you for water but you did not give Me water to drink. He will say: O Lord! How could I give You water to drink when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that My such-and-such servant asked you for water, did you not know that if you had given him water to drink, you would have found (the reward of) that with Me? O son of Adam! I was ill but you did not visit Me. He will say: O Lord! How could I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds? Allah, the Exalted, will say: Did you not know that My such-and-such servant was ill, if you had visited him, you would have found him with Me." Or: "You would have found Me with him."
