Sacrifice for aqeeqah explained
Hadith 657
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ: ((عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ لَا يَضُرُّكَ ذُكْرَانًا أَمْ إِنَاثًا)).
Sayyidah Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say regarding ‘Aqiqah: “For a boy, two goats and for a girl, one goat (should be slaughtered). It does not matter to you whether they are male or female.”
Hadith 658
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّ أُمَّ كُرْزٍ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ، فَقَالَ: ((عَنِ الْغُلَامِ ثِنْتَانِ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ وَاحِدَةٌ، لَا يَضُرُّكَ ذُكْرَانًا أَوْ إِنَاثًا)).
Sayyida Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: She asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about ‘Aqiqah. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “For a boy, two goats; and for a girl, one goat. And it does not matter to you whether they (the goats) are male or female.”
Hadith 659
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، نا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ أَبِي خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ بَنِي كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيِّينَ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ: ((عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ)) , فَقُلْتُ لَهُ - يَعْنِي عَطَاءً -: فَمَا الْمُكَافِئَتَانِ؟ قَالَ: مِثْلَانِ ذُكْرَانُهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ إِنَاثِهَا رَأْيًا مِنْهُ.
Sayyida Umm Bani Karz Ka'bain (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say regarding 'Aqiqah: "For a boy, two equal (similar) goats, and for a girl, one goat (should be slaughtered)."
Hadith 660
أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((عَلَى الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتَانِ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ عَقِيقَةٌ)).
Sayyida Umm Karz (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "For a boy, two 'aqiqahs (two animals) and for a girl, one 'aqiqah."
