If a woman accepts Islam before her husband, they cannot maintain relations
Hadith 650
اَخْبَرَنَا یَزِیْدُ بْنُ هَارُوْنَ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ دَاوٗدَ بْنِ الْحُصَیْنِ، عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابِنِ عَبَّاسٍ اَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَدَّ ابْنَتَهٗ زَیْنَبَ عَلَی اَبِی الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِیْعِ زَوْجِهَا بَعْدَ سَنَتَیْنِ بِالنِّکَاحِ الْاَوَّلِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned his daughter Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) to her husband Abu Al-As bin Al-Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) with the first marriage after two years.
Hadith 651
اَخْبَرَنَا یَحْیَی بْنُ وَاضِحٍ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اِسْحَاقَ، بِهَذَا الْاِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهٗ، وَزَادَ قَالَ: وَلَمْ یُحْدِثْ شَیْئًا، وَکَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ ضَمَّهَا اِلَیْهِ قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ.
Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated with this chain the same narration, and he transmitted this addition: He said, "No new act was done (i.e., neither a new marriage nor a new dowry, etc.), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had already kept her with him before this."
