Giving more than three divorces explained
Hadith 647
اَخْبَرَناَ عَبْدُاللّٰهِ بْنُ اِدْرِیْسَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُبَیْدَاللّٰهِ بْنِ الْوَلِیْدِ یُحَدِّثُ عَنْ داؤد بن ابراهیم، عن (بن) عبادة بن الصامت قال: طلق رجل من أجدادی امرأتهٗ ألقًا نأنغذہ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: اِنَّ اَبَاکُمْ لَمْ (یَتَّقِ) اللّٰهَ فَیَجَعَلُ لَهٗ مَخْرَجًا، بَانَتْ مِنْهٗ ثَلَاثًا وَسَائِرُهُنَّ عُدْوَان، اِتَّخَذَ آیَاتِ اللّٰهِ هُزُوًا.
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: One of my ancestors gave his wife a thousand divorces, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) enforced it. And he said: "Your father did not adopt piety, so he did not make any way out for him. Three of them have been enforced on his behalf, and the rest are excess; he has made a mockery of the verses of Allah."
