Accepting an invitation to a meal
Hadith 604
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَلْيُجِبْ فَإِمَّا أَنْ يَأْكُلَ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَإِذَا وَلَجَ الرَّسُولُ قَبْلَهُ فَهُوَ إِذْنُهُ وَإِنْ دَخَلَ هُوَ قَبْلَهُ فَلْيَسْتَأْذِنْ)).
With the same (previous) chain of narration: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of you is invited to a meal, he should accept it; then he should either eat or (pray) for the household. If the messenger enters before him, then that is his permission, and if he enters before him, then he should seek permission."
