Relationships that are forbidden to combine in marriage
Hadith 599
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ دَاوُدَ بْنَ أَبِي هِنْدَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: ((نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُنْكَحَ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا، وَالْعَمَّةُ عَلَى ابْنَةِ أَخِيهَا)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a woman be married to a man who already has her paternal aunt in his wedlock, and (likewise) that a paternal aunt be married to a man who already has her niece in his wedlock.
Hadith 600
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، نا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: ((نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُنْكَحَ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا، وَالْعَمَّةُ عَلَى ابْنَةِ أَخِيهَا، وَلَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى خَالَتِهَا، وَلَا الْخَالَةُ عَلَى ابْنَةِ أَخِيهَا، وَلَا تُنْكَحُ الصَّغْرَى عَلَى الْكُبْرَى , وَلَا الْكُبْرَى عَلَى الصَّغْرَى)).
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a woman be married to a man who already has her paternal aunt in his wedlock, and likewise, that a woman be married to a man who already has her niece in his wedlock. And a woman should not be married to a man who already has her maternal aunt in his wedlock, nor should a maternal aunt be married to a man who already has her niece in his wedlock. And the younger should not be married while the elder is present, nor should the elder be married while the younger is present.
Hadith 601
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُلَائِيُّ، نا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ سَوَاءً.
Hazrat Aamir narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) a narration similar to the previous hadith.
