The Prophet’s meeting with various prophets during the Night Journey (Mi’raj)
Hadith 588
اَخَبَرَنَا یَحْیَی بْنُ آدَمَ، نَا اِسْرَائِیْلُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِیْرَةَ الثَّقَفِیِّ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ رَّسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: رَأَیْتُ اِبْرَاهِیْمَ وَمُوْسٰی وَعِیْسٰی فَاَمَّا عِیْسٰی: فَعَرِیْضُ الصَّدْرِ وَاَمَّا مُوْسٰی: فَاٰدَمُ سِبْطٌ، کَانَ مِنْ رِجَالِ الزَّطِّ، فَقِیْلَ لَهٗ: فَاِبْرَاهِیْمُ؟ قَالَ: شِبْهُ صَاحِبِکُمْ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "I saw Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa (peace be upon them): Isa (peace be upon him) was broad and had a wide chest, while Musa (peace be upon him) was tall with a wheat-colored complexion, and he was among the people of the Zutt tribe." It was asked to him: And what about Ibrahim (peace be upon him)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He resembles your companion (the Prophet himself, peace and blessings be upon him)."
Hadith 589
اَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، نَا سُفْیَانُ، بِهَذَا الْاِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهٗ، وَقَالَ: اَمَّا عِیْسٰی: (فَجَعْدٌ) اَحْمَرُ، عَرِیْضُ الصَّدْرِ، وَقَالَ: فَاَشْبَهُ صَاحِبُکُمْ، یَعْنِیْ نَفْسَهٗ.
Sufyan Thawri narrated with this chain in a similar manner: and said: 'Isa (peace be upon him) was of reddish complexion and of medium height, and said: He (Ibrahim, peace be upon him) resembles your companion, meaning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).'
