Description of one who swears by Allah
Hadith 564
وَبِهَذَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " رَأَى عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَجُلًا يَسْرِقُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَسْرَقْتَ؟ قَالَ: لَا وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ، فَقَالَ عِيسَى: آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَكَذَّبْتُ الْبَصَرَ ".
With this same chain: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) saw a man stealing, so he said to him: 'Did you steal?' He replied: 'No, by Him besides whom there is no deity.' So Isa (peace be upon him) said: 'I believe in Allah and I declare my sight to be false.'"
